LAST FRIDAY I travelled to and from Amsterdam in less then 24 hours - I think that's a record? Either way I'm damn proud of myself for still being able to mentally function without sleep for nearly two days. As you may have already seen on the other CofD blogs, there are some changes coming to the site. Good changes! Over the past few days I've been working like a crazy woman behind my desk in preparation for the new plans I have for le blog (note the slight aesthetic changes ey ey) so if things get a little quiet on my end you'll know why. That being said, I'd love to know a little bit about what you'd like to see from me.
Leave any ideas (or questions) in the comments below!
PS. My Wardrobe is running an insane offer which gives you a free flight ticket to one of ten destinations (including good old Amsterdam) whenever you spend £100 or more online. Um..hell yes? Terms and conditions are here. Looks like I'll be back sooner rather than later then..
JUST a quick #tbt for today, as right now I'm out at an event for Ulanka on Oxford st. Strike that, at around 7am I'm potentially still in bed, but who knows, maybe I've decided to become a morning person for once. I wasn't going to post these pictures as they're fairly old and I'm not exactly looking my best in them, but that's just the way life goes I guess. Trust me, I'm probably looking a whole lot better here than I am whilst being sprawled out in my bed right now. I don't think any of you are ready for that imagery just yet..
THERE'S nothing quite as exciting as a package all the way from Paris, except a challenge. We're all so used to seeing me swan around the blog in sweatpants and leather jackets, so for once I decided to step outside of my comfort zone, get rid of the black (almost) and take a shot at semi-feminine dressing with this Claudie Pierlot sheer jacket.
Sans the outerwear I guess this outfit looks almost identical to most of my usual day-wear: Loose tailored trousers, a light tank top and my life-saving pair of heels that have lasted me way longer than they should. As well as the jacket I actually decided to make a slight effort with myself on this day - spending an extra three minutes applying eyeliner and actually brushing my hair for once (I know right?) - but the jacket is really what makes this outfit what it is. I'd love to know what you think of this secretive side of me?
You can shop more of the Claudie Pierlot Flirt collection online and in-store.
*Collection is available in the following Lodon stores: South Molten Street, Kings Road, Westbourne Grove & Hampstead
LESS is more could not be more relevant when it comes to what's in my bag. I like to carry just the bare essentials with me on my off-duty days to make 'light' of the whole situation - every pun intended. After careful consideration and a lot of trial and error, this is all that I need to get me through the day.
Mobile phone- My Samsung Note ||| is big enough to be a tablet, which kills two birds with one stone. I can work whilst I travel, stay in touch with friends and cure boredom with a bunch of apps.
iPod- I keep an iPod in my bag for the obvious reasons! Plus it saves my battery when on the tube.
Notebook- I love to write old fashioned lists, so whenever I get given important information or a blog idea pops into my head I like to jot it down for later.
Purse- This purse is tiny, holds my money and is big enough for all of my cards. And it's Phillip Lim. Need I say more?
Perfume- I hate going out without wearing perfume, so I always make sure I have a mini size stashed away in my bag for those days that I forget. It's also great for a quick top up before going out.
Hand cream- In London it's basically a law to apply anti-bacterial hand gel every five seconds, which can leave your paws feeling as dry as the Sahara. I make sure I have a travel sized hand cream in my bag at all times.
Shine spray- Throughout the day my hair can start to look a little dull, so I usually pop a small amount of shine spray on my hair half way through to keep me looking remotely polished.
Balm- I mainly use this as a hydrating lip balm, but it's also great for any other part of the skin. The smell keeps me relaxed and anxiety-free when on a packed tube or train as well.
THIS is my current attempt at summer dressing, kind of. Even though I love the heat I absolutely hate dressing for hotter climates - especially considering 99% of my wardrobe is either a) outerwear or b) leather. I'm hardly beach ready. Saying that, I must be bearing at least 30% skin in this look, which is sure-fire improvement.
Let me know how you dress for summer in the comments below!
