What's in the April Love Me Beauty box

IT terrifies me to think that we're already over a third of the way through 2014. I mean, really? The only plus side about time passing so quickly is having the Love Me Beauty box come through my door every month. Oh I know how to live.

April's box - just like all of the other boxes I've been sent - doesn't disappoint. I've been working on a little self/life makeover lately (when do I not say that?) so the fact that this box is full to the brim with hair care and oils makes me a very happy girl. I decided to choose Menu 3 which included a full-sized cleansing shampoo by Neal & Wolf (also known as the nicest smelling stuff ever), a full-sized moisturising oil and a nail polish in peachy orange shade. Say goodbye to the nude nails my friends, things are about to get wild.

Have you ever tried a monthly beauty box?

NORMALLY my beauty routine remains fairly constant most days, but recently I've been trying out a few new products in preparation for the hope of summer skin. Maybe I'll start making this a regular feature? What do you think?

SPF protection - SPF is a must every day and I love it even more when it has a touch of coverage too

Lighter scents - Sickly smells are a no-go in hot weather. This hair perfume is light and has UV protection too

Heavy duty balm - Calendula balm is a lifesaver due to it's calming and hydrating properties - perfect for sun burn

Gentle cleanserTanned skin means minimal makeup, which means heavy duty cleansers take a back seat for now

Natural toner - Same goes with cleanser - in summer, the lighter the better (and it smells amazing)

Deluxe mascara - If I'm going bare-faced I like to amp up the drama with a more intense (and pricey!) mascara

Under-eye coverage - This is forever my favourite beauty product - I doubt I'll ever stop using this

Intense serum - Sun can suck the moisture out of skin, so I like to apply a plumping serum each night for good measure

MARCH LOVE ME BEAUTY REVIEW

WELL look what wound up on my desk this morning - only the best Love Me Beauty box I've received to date. i mean, throw a bit of rose and/or lavender scented things my way and I'm a happy girl - add a CC eye cream and SPF moisturiser in the mix and you're onto a winner. The toothpaste comes in handy too considering I'm on a teeth whitening hype right now - and the lashes? Well they've definitely opened my eyes to the reason behind the hype. Not sure I'll be sticking fake hair to my eyelids every day though - maybe for very, very special occassions.

Shop the boxes here (I picked Edition 1!)

My most treasured daily essentials

Lifestyle

I SEEM to have made a habit of losing and/or breaking some of my most prized (and practical) posessions. I hate to think how many pairs of headphones I've gone through in the past year - depsite it only being March - and the amount of scratches on my Ray-Bans is almost laughable. Laughable, hardly being my word of choice for my latest mobile phone escapade. Picture a casual day out in London, afternoon tea and french fries at Sketch (which I would highly recommend), followed by a not-so-graceful trip, followed by a very expensive bill to replace a smashed phone. The moral of this story? Start taking more care of things - or at least, stop tripping over so much.

SPRING WISHLIST

WORD on the street internet is that Spring has sprung (almost), which means it's about time I started working on my seasonal wishlist. This summer I'm going to try to keep it simple with just a few quality basics and bikinis - which reminds me - it's about time I started working on those abs too, or at least faking them with a bit of well-placed tanner. Fake it til you make it and all that.

Also decided to hop on the bandwagon and punch a few more holes in my ears, because I've finally come to terms with the fact that the Reposi cuff is just never going to happen. I like to think of body jewelery as an accessory I don't have to even think about before I leave the house - it's just the initial decision of who, what, where and when that takes the time..

Check out this handy guide from Fresh Trends that I found - perfect if you're looking to get pierced!
